Location
Montagu, Western Cape; 12km outside Montagu on the Route 62 en route to Barrydale.
Climate
Little Karoo: The dry climate with cold winters is ideal for growing quality fruit trees. The Little Karoo is widely known to be "the most healthy climate for the propagation of stone fruit trees".
Soil
Mainly slightly acidic sandy- and loamy soil for rooting clonal rootstock trees; heavier soil types for propagating Plums and Mariana rootstock trees.
To ensure the best possible quality trees with healthy roots, all soil is fumigated before planting.
Water
Origin: Unpolluted boreholes with excellent fresh water from the foot of the Langeberg. Irrigation by means of "drip" ensures adequate coverage and wetting of the roots without wetting leaves and stems. This prevents fungal diseases and assures a healthy tree for the deciduous fruit producer.
Products
